Strawberry Watermelon Refresher

Summer is that you? No matter what the weather is outside, this Strawberry Watermelon Refresher feels like a ray of sunshine!

Four simple ingredients and only five minutes, is all it takes to whip up this fun drink!

Don’t you remember being a kid and how summer days used to drag on?  I suppose pretty much every day drags on as a kid, but I remember longggg summers.  I’ve started thinking about how relative time is, and how we don’t have less time as we get older (although it may seem that way) but since we’re less PRESENT (I don’t know about you but my mind has a gazillion things on the go at any given moment), time simply disappears.  I think we can claw back some of that time by acting more like a kid… I’m going to give it my best shot.  I should ask my husband if it works. Haha, kidding;)

Anyway, back to this drink.  I don’t like sweet drinks but love a little extra nutrition and zing in a beverage. The cool thing about this one is that you blend the whole fruit so you actually get some fibre as well.  This Watermelon Strawberry Refresher is GREAT for the skin too ladies!  Strawberries are rich in vitamin C which helps us build collagen (the stuff that keeps our skins’ elasticity) and watermelon is loaded with water and citrulline, an amino acid that helps our body make arginine, which helps our cells divide and enhances blood flow (through increasing nitric oxide production to get all geeky).  And of course, staying hydrated, especially during those summer months, is super important.  Our bodies are over 70% water!  Oh yes, and did you know that you can also eat the rind of the watermelon?  It’s totally edible and is a good source of citrulline as well!

The bottom line?  Eat. More. Watermelon.
